To ring in this Halloween, we threw our annual halloween party. Everyone rocked a costume from one of the projects we worked on this year, and there were some pretty amazing submissions to the costume contest. Check out the pictures here, and have a happy halloween!
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 Campaign
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed digging into this delicious campaign, spending the last year working closely with the awesome team at Sony.
We started the adventure with the Teaser, which included a main title that would continue on through the rest of the campaign. As the release date approached, we amped things up for the big day by creating a series of TV spots that introduced new characters and showcased the beautiful and imaginative world.
We’ve had a blast being part of this supersized campaign and couldn’t be more excited that Cloudy 2 is finally being released into the wild.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – Comic Con Multiscreen piece
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 debuted its first footage at San Diego Comic-con, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing our old friend back in front of audiences. It started with the Entertainment Weekly iPad edition, where we created an animated cover giving the world its first official look at Electro facing off with Spidey.
The tease continued with a brief announcement piece that played outside the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, telling fans to prepare for Electro’s arrival at the official Sony Pictures panel.
All of this culminated at Friday’s presentation, when Sony gave a special ultra-widescreen presentation of the footage. For this 280 foot, 11:1 aspect ratio screen, we started by creating a 20 second animated title reveal, announcing to the 6,500 fans in attendance that Spider-Man was now here.
A faint humming grows until the black curtains parts around the main stage’s screen, revealing two more adjoining screens on either side. Soon spider webs are shooting across the screen, ending with the reveal of the ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ logo, which makes the crowd go wild.
Emma Stone was in France filming, so she did a taped greeting, saying she wishes she could be at Comic-Con… The tape begins to spaz out and then cuts completely. Flashes of electricity appeared on the screen and then we heard a creepy whistling version of “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” Yep, it was Jamie Foxx’s big entrance. The crowd went crazy.
Fans slept in line overnight for the chance to see world premiere footage from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and — judging by the cheers, screams and applause from the packed crowd in Hall H at Comic-Con International in San Diego — their devoted efforts were well worth it.
Create also contributed several visual effect shots, including Spidey’s iconic web slinging.

3 New E3 gaming premieres from Create Advertising
2013 E3 was a busy one for us here at Create. We had 3 pieces premiere at the show, and 2 of them premiered live at Monday’s press conferences.
For Microsoft’s press conference, our Dark Souls II trailer showed, and based on the online buzz around it, the fans were hungry for it. Seeing a piece utilizing our game capture team and editorial and graphics departments on the big screen was an absolute honor and we are excited to keep going with our work on the franchise.
Later the same day at the Sony press conference, our E3 Vita Presentation literally opened the show with Jack Tretton (President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America) speaking about the new Vita titles and capabilities. It was pretty amazing to witness the full 11,000 x 1080 pixel display of our work, and we’re proud to add that to our live show graphic portfolio.
EA also premiered their new trailer for Command & Conquer: Generals 2 early this week. Our in-house CG and Motion Graphics artists did an amazing job bringing the faction leaders to life, and the attention to detail really showed during the looping trailer on the big screen at EA’s booth for the 3 days of the show.
Last but not least, it was awesome to see both our Pac-Man and Project X-Zone trailers playing at the Namco booth. Pac-Man featuring our game capture and motion graphics capabilities, and Project X-Zone featuring our custom CG environments.
Overall, we are excited and honored to have had such quality work show at this year’s E3. Here’s to the teams that made this happen, and congrats to yet another successful E3 under all our belts!
